Cell division is a very important process in all living organisms. During the division of a cell, DNA replication and cell growth also take place. All these processes, i.e., cell division, DNA replication, and cell growth, hence, have to take place in a coordinated way to ensure correct division and formation of progeny cells containing intact genomes. The sequence of events by which a cell duplicates its genome, synthesises the other constituents of the cell and eventually divides into two daughter cells is termed cell cycle.
Cancer is frequently considered to be a disease of the cell cycle; alterations in different families of cell cycle regulators cooperate in tumor development. Molecular analysis of human tumors has shown that cell cycle regulators are frequently mutated in human neoplasms, which underscores how important the maintenance of cell cycle commitment is in the prevention of human cancer [...]View Report
Lavanaya R & D division has been done the experiment apoptosis induction of Ayurvedic medicine (LAS 02) against cervix cancer cell line (HeLA).For Apoptosis induction measurement of ayurvedic medicine, using three staining procedures H & E, acriydine orange and propidium iodide respectively. Finding shows that normal cells appear well nucleus. [...]View Report
Cytotoxicity is the quality of being toxic to cells .Treating cells with the cytotoxic drug can result in a variety of cell fates. The cells may undergo necrosis, in which they lose membrane integrity and die rapidly as a result of cell lysis. The cells can stop actively growing and dividing (a decrease in cell viability), or the cells can activate a genetic program of controlled cell death (apoptosis).[...]View Report
